QMRC will be hosting the
ASRA Queensland State Service Rifle Championships.
This is an open event and all clubs and licenced shooters are welcome to attend.
SATURDAY SCHEDULE - Event 1
Australian Service Rifle Match
on Internation Range
Saturday 19th September 2026
RANGE OFFICER - Clyde
Entry Fee for this event $ 40.00
The QMRC RANGE PASS CARD CANNOT be used at this ASRA Prize Event Shoot.
Range fee includes BBQ Lunch & drinks
and a Gift from the prize table
Range Set up & Sign on @ 7:30 am
Range Brief @ 7:45 am
ASRA Service Rifle Match Start @ 8:00 am
RANGE: 100m, 200m, 300m
AMMUNITION: 72 rounds
TARGETS: Type B, Fig 11, fig 12. Refer to target section for more information on targets.
SCORING: As indicated on targets. Scoring is the same for all three classes.
Trophies will be awarded in each class.
CLASSES: Shooters may shoot in one of three classes,
o Standard military
o Modified military
o Match rifle
PROCEDURE:
Match 1 100m SNAP standing
“MILNE BAY” Fig 12 target,
2 sighters & 10 x 4 second exposures.
Match 2 200m SNAP, Sitting, kneeling or squatting,
"MARYANG SAN” Fig 12 target,
2 sighters & 10 x 3 second exposures.
Match 3 200m RAPID, Sitting,
“LONG TAN” Fig. 11 target,
2 sighters & 10 to score, 2 exposures of 30 seconds with 30 seconds between exposures.
Match 4 300m SNAP, Lying unsupported,
“KAPYONG” Fig. 12 target,
2 sighters & 10 x 3 second exposures.
Match 5 300m RAPID, lying unsupported,
“ELANDS RIVER” Type B target,
2 sighters & 10 to score. 2 exposures of 30 seconds with 30 seconds between exposures.
Match 6 300m DELIBERATE, Lying unsupported,
"BEERSHEBA” Type B target,
2 sighters & 10 to score.

International Service Rifle Match

Entry Fee for this event $ 10.00
Range Set up & Sign on @ 7:30 am
Range Brief @ 7:45 am
Rifle Match Start @ 8:00 am
RANGE: 200y, 300y, 600y
AMMUNITION: 58 rounds
TARGETS: 200y & 300y shot on four foot targets with different sized aiming circles.
600y shot on a six foot target.
CLASSES: Standard military
Modified military
Match rifle or Open
TIMING: Each match is preceded by a preparation period of 3 minutes.
Separate timings under ‘procedure’ below.
SCORING: As indicated on targets. Scoring is the same for all three classes.
PROCEDURE:
Match 1 200y SLOW FIRE, standing.
No sling, single round load.
2 sighters then 10 to score.
Maximum of one minute per shot.
Match 2 200y RAPID, sitting or kneeling.
Standing start, rifle loaded and bolt open.
Slings may be used.
2 sighters then 10 to score.
60 seconds, including a compulsory reload.
Match 3 300y RAPID, prone from a standing start with rifle loaded but bolt open.
2 sighters then ten to score.
70 seconds, including a compulsory reload.
Match 4 600y SLOW FIRE. Prone.
Single round load.
2 sighters then 20 to score.
Accommodation
QRA offer a variety of accommodation with in the Belmont complex. These include caravan & tent sites, bunk rooms to motel units. All priced at very reasonable rates.

— Friday night theory session,

QMRC Community Help Programs;
Australia has a Permanent National Firearms Amnesty (since July 2021) allowing people to surrender unregistered, unwanted, or illegal firearms, parts, and ammo anonymously and without penalty to police or licensed dealers, aiming to reduce gun crime and improve safety.
Here are some examples of unregistered firearms:
- Firearms that should have been registered or surrendered during the 1996-1997 buyback but were not
- Firearms handed down to family members as part of deceased estates
- Firearms possessed by people who do not have the appropriate type of licence.
How it Works:
- Anonymity & No Penalty: Surrender items without fear of prosecution.
- Items Accepted: Unregistered firearms, illegal firearms, unwanted firearms, firearm parts, and ammunition.
Key Goal:
- To remove dangerous, unregistered firearms from circulation to prevent them from falling into the wrong hands.
